50 ans du WWF au Liechtenstein - Bloc spécial

WWF 50 Years in Liechtenstein - Special sheet

For the third time after 1976 and 1989, the Post of the Principality of Liechtenstein has issued a beautiful souvenir sheet in 2011 dedicated to the WWF.
On September 9, 2011, a sheet of eight self-adhesive hexagonal-shaped stamps has indeed been issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the WWF, one of the largest (and best-known !) organizations for the preservation of environment in the world.
On this 100% made in Liechtenstein's sheet (designed by the artist Jacques Sonderer, from Eschen and printed by Gutenberg AG in Schaan), eight species of endangered birds in Liechtenstein are depicted.

This is one of the eight stamps of this sheet that appears to the right on the letter above, mailed on January 18, 2012 from the capital, Vaduz. Thank you very much Vural :-)
The species depicted on this stamp is a Common Nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos) known for its melodious song...
The logo of the WWF, with the famous Panda,, is included in the top margin of this souvenir sheet as well as on the eight stamps of the series.
To note that other postal administrations (Iceland, Slovenia, Malta, Russia, Switzerland (WWF has been founded there in 1961), Macao, Kyrgyzstan...) have also issued stamps in 2011 devoted to this 50th anniversary.
Vural has also used on his letter two identical stamps (CHF 0.20) being part of a set of three stamps, issued on November 16, 2009, entitled "Brand Liechtenstein". The Lifestyle Museum of Schellenberg, symbolizing the Community, is depicted on this self-adhesive stamp.
