To complete my post published today, I'm very happy to share with you a new philatelic item related directly to the issue, on May 16, 2012, of a Czech stamp devoted to the Baťa Canal, considered as a technical monument in the country.
Thank you very much Pavel for this wonderful surprise :-)
Pavel has used a postcard dedicated to this Baťa Canal ("Baťův kanál" in Czech) franked with two copies of that stamp. To note also the special cancellation from Prague dated the first day of issue.

In his text written on this postcard to the left, Pavel refers to the history of this waterway and to this stamp (refer to my message today for more details). The route of this Canal, between Otrokovice and Rohatec, is also included on this left side.
To note the respective signatures, at the bottom left, of the author of this stamp, Adolf Absolon, and of the engraver, Martin Srb !
So a rather exceptional philatelic piece :-)

Several aerial views of this Canal are featured on the other side of this postcard above. It shows in particular the meanders of the Morava River, several locks as well as a building (bottom left) that was used for lignite shipping.
The words "Jihomoravský kraj" refer to the South Moravian Region (south-eastern country) where much of this Canal is located.
