Liechtenstein : Timbres EUROPA 2013 et Accord douanier avec la Suisse

Liechtenstein : EUROPA 2013 and Customs Treaty with Switzerland stamps

On March 4, 2013, the Post of the Principality of Liechtenstein has probably issued the the most surprising and disconcerting stamp being part of the EUROPA issues devoted this year to postal vehicles !
It is that stamp (1.40 CHF) that appears at the bottom right on the letter below posted on June 4th, 2013 in the capital, Vaduz.
As it was the case last year, this stamp was designed in collaboration with the Liechtenstein School of Art and, after a competition, it is a drawing by a young designer from Schellenberg, Mirjam Büchel (born 1992), that was chosen.

This drawing with a contemporary design, entitled "VehicleWheels", depicts a wheel composed of three different wheels, each of which belongs to a distinct era of postal transport : carriage, bicycle and car. This stamp is featuring the three colors of the flag of Liechtenstein (red, blue and yellow).
Moreover, that stamp symbolizes the close links between the Post and the Principality with the country's mountainous silhouette in the middle !
The same day, the diptych above (2 x 2 CHF) was also issued on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Customs Treaty with Switzerland (on March 29, 1923 exactly).

Moreover, the stamp symbolizes the close links between the post and also the mountainous principality with silhouette of countries in the middle! The same day, the diptych above (2 x 2 CHF) was also issued on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the signing of the border agreement with Switzerland (March 29, 1923 exactly).
These stamps show a helicopter view over the border between the two countries (Switzerland to the left and Liechtenstein to the right), with the Rhine valley in the center.
A stamp had already been issued in 1998 for the 75th anniversary of that same Treaty.
Finally, to note in the bottom left on this cover, the special postmark of the Liechtenstein Post ("Laura in Mâcon", designed by Armin Hoop) issued during the "Salon Philatélique de Printemps" organized from 5 to 7 April 2013 in Mâcon, France.
