Hommage à Jaroslav Klemeš en Rép. Tchèque

Tribute to Jaroslav Klemeš in Czech Rep.

In a post published on January 14, 2014 on this blog, I mentioned a special Czech pictural cancellation honoring Rudolf Pernický (1915-2005), one of the Czechoslovak heroes of the struggle against the Nazis and the Communists.
As a reminder, Pernický was air-landed in December 1944 over the territory of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ("Tungsten" operation) and participated actively in the resistance movement until the end of the 2nd World War.
On January 31, 2014, a new pictural cancellation was put into circulation by the Post Office N° 1 of Prague, dedicated to another great figure of the Czech resistance, Jaroslav Klemeš.

It is that cancellation that was applied to this letter above. Thank you very much Slavek :-)
Slavek has used a stamp (25 Kč), issued on September 15, 2010, being part of a definitive series devoted to flowers, an iris here.
This cancellation evokes the 92 years of Jaroslav Klemeš (born 1922 ) and the "Platinum - Pewter" operation of which he was one of the protagonists in 1945. The words "poslední žijicí parašutista SOE" ("the last surviving SOE paratroopers SOE") is also included on this cancellation.
Like Pernický, Klemeš fled Czechoslovakia after its invasion and annexation by Nazi troops of the 3rd Reich. He then joined Great Britain and the SOE ("Special Operations Executive"), where he trained as a paratrooper.
SOE is a British secret service that operated during the 2nd World War to support the various resistance movements in European countries occupied by German troops.
During this "Platinum - Pewter" operation of February 17, 1945, Klemeš was air-landed near the village of Nasavrky (center of the country) to provide means of communication to the resistance there.
