From January 5 to April 3, 2015, the French Post and the "Association des maires de France" ("French Mayors' Association" or AMF) jointly organized a photo contest entitled "Our beautiful town halls 2015" in order to select the 12 best photos of municipal buildings in France, to be reproduced on stamps of a booklet "City halls of France" late 2015.
Three categories were open to competition, in order to feature in the best way this municipal heritage and territories of France : view from outside (facade, courtyard...), view from inside (City council room, marriage hall...) and representative and symbolic detail (sculpture, stairs...).
The issue of this booklet had to take place the week of November 16, 2015 at the occasion of the 98th Congress of Mayors of France but was finally delayed following the postponement of this Congress in 2016, after the terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris...

This booklet was however put into circulation in 2015, precisely on December 10, and I'm happy to share with you these 3 First Day Covers (with postmarks from Paris, at the "Carré d'Encre") each franked with 4 stamps ("Green Letter 20g" rate) of this booklet (layout : Etienne Théry, print run : 3,000,000). Thank you very much Joël !
The cancellation, designed by Valérie Besser, is mentioning this photo contest and reproduces the AMF's logo.
169 town halls (only knowing that there are over 36,000 towns in France !) participated in this contest, in particular the towns of Caudebec-en-Caux (76) with an exterior view of the City Hall (a former mansion dating from the late 18th century ), Cercy-La-Tour (58) with a detail of the bell tower and the clock of the roof of the Town Hall (a former presbytery), Brunstatt (68) with a view of the municipal council room and La Pernelle (50) with an exterior view of the Town Hall, one of the smallest of France (a former English guard post of the 15th century), all four in the spotlight on the stamps above.

The castle's central dwellings (a medieval fortress from the 13th century, remodeled several times until the 18th century) of the city of Châteaugiron (35) houses since 1978 the town hall of this city, in the spotlight on the stamp above to the left.
The other three stamps above depict photographs of the town halls of Chambourcy (78) with an exterior view of the building, Clamart (92) with a view of the marriage hall, situated on the 1st floor of the Round Tower (14th century) and decorated with murals painted in 1950 by Jacques Céria or Despierre (1912-1995) and Créteil (94) with an exterior view of the town hall built in the 1970s along the lake.

The last four stamps of this booklet above are devoted to the city halls of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave (82) with an exterior view of the castle of Richard Coeur de Lion (12th and 13th centuries) registered as a historic monument in 1978, Le Pêchereau (36) with a view of the castle of Courbat dating from the early 17th century, Toul (54) with a view of the rear facade of the old bishop's palace (1st half of 18th century) and in particular its polygonal architectural element topped by a dome (inspired from the castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte) and Sennecey-le-Grand (71) with a detail of the pediment above the door of the main entrance to the town hall.
I rather like this set with the presence of colors of the French flag to the left on each of these 12 self-adhesive stamps.
