Saint-Pierre & Miquelon : special cancellation of January 1, 2016 !

After a special "Best Wishes" round postmark last year, the post of Saint-Pierre & Miquelon proposed this year a mechanical pictorial cancellation put into circulation from January 1, 2016, dedicated to the bicentenary of the handover of this archipelago to France.
As it was the case last year, the Philatelic Association Philapostel organized this year a postal operation entitled "Send your best wishes 2016 from this small piece of France in the Americas".
An illustrated envelope and its associated greeting card have been offered to collectors in order to send their best wishes in a rather original way from the archipelago of Saint Pierre and Miquelon !

I was very lucky to receive two copies of this special envelope, including the Philapostel's logo at the top left as well as an illustration (by Sophie Beaujard) depicting these colorful wooden houses, typical of Saint-Pierre & Miquelon. Thank you very much Jean-Claude and Joël !
To note the mention "Creation Sophie Beaujard" under the illustration, curiously missing on the second similar envelope below ?
This special cancellation issued on January 1, 2016 in Saint-Pierre (don't know if it was also available in Miquelon-Langlade ?) was applied on these envelopes.

Here is above this beuatiful "Happy New Year 2016" card by Sophie Beaujard, featuring a landscape of these islands and these same colorful houses.

The stamp dedicated to Christmas (€ 0.80, print run : 50,000), issued on November 28, 2015, was used on these covers.
That stamp, designed by Francine Langlois (who had already designed the Christmas stamp in 2007), shows a Santa Claus pulling a sleigh itself with the help of goblins, arriving on the General de Gaulle square in Saint-Pierre, with the fountain to the left.

That same stamp and the same mechanical cancellation of January 1, 2016 appear on this third letter above. Thank you very much Joël !
A big thank you also to Pierre for this fourth letter below, franked this time with the definitive stamp "Marianne and Youth" with a "SPM" overprint (letter up to 20g to France and French overseas territories) issued on October 2, 2013 !

The year 2016 thus marks the 200th anniversary of the final handover of the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon to France, and many celebrations are planned this year in the archipelago.
From 1604 to 1816, France and England fiercely contested these islands until the signature of the Treaty of Paris in 1815 and June 21, 1816 when the Saint-Pierre & Miquelon islands were officially and definitively retroceded to France.
This year 1816 marked the return of French settlers for the last time and since, the archipelago of Saint-Pierre & Miquelon has not ceased to be a French territory.

A souvenir sheet dedicated to the bicentenary of the handover of Saint-Pierre & Miquelon to France is logically in the program of stamp issues of this archipelago in 2016.
A preview of this souvenir sheet (2 stamps) above, to be issued on June 22, 2016, designed by Patrick Dérible and partially engraved by André Lavergne.
