Pour la 2ème fois après 1989, la Corée du Sud a accueilli, du 28 mai au 1er juin 2016, la convention (107ème édition) du Rotary International, considéré comme la plus ancienne association caritative à but non lucratif dans le monde (créée en 1905 à Chicago par Paul P. Harris).
Composé de plus de 35000 clubs à travers le monde (1,2 millions de membres), le Rotary International se présente comme une "organisation apolitique et ouverte qui encourage une haute éthique civique et professionnelle et œuvre pour faire progresser l'entente et la paix dans le monde", à travers sa devise officielle "Servir d'abord".
For the 2nd time after 1989, South Korea hosted, from 28 May to 1 June 2016, the Convention (107th edition) of the Rotary International, considered as the world's oldest non-affiliated service organization (established in 1905 in Chicago by Paul P. Harris).
Composed of more than 35,000 clubs worldwide (1.2 million members), Rotary International presents itself as a "non-political and open organization that encourages high ethical and professional and civic work to advance understanding and peace in the world", through its official motto "Service Above Self ".
La poste coréenne a mis en circulation, le 2 mai 2016, un timbre (300 won, tirage : 700000, conception : Park Eunkyung) consacré à cette convention organisée au Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) situé à Goyang, dans la banlieue nord de Séoul.
Ce timbre a été imprimé (par Cartor) en feuille composée de 20 timbres (5 bandes de 4 timbres), avec marge supérieure illustrée, incluant le logo de cette convention ainsi que celui du Rotary International (roue d'engrenage de 24 dents, datant de 1924), présents également sur le timbre.
Un grand merci Ji-Ho pour ce joli FDC envoyée de Busan, affranchi avec la bande supérieure de cette feuille (4 timbres)!
Le logo de cette convention est inspiré de la salle d'audience principale (Geunjeongjeon) du palais royal de Gyeongbokgung (dynastie Joseon) situé dans le nord de Séoul.
Korea Post has released on May 2, 2016, a stamp (300 won, print run : 700,000, design : Park Eunkyung) devoted to this Convention held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) located in Goyang, a northern suburb of Seoul.
That stamp was printed (by Cartor) in a sheet consisting of 20 stamps (5 strips of 4 stamps), wit an illustrated top margin, including the logo of this Convention as well as the Rotary International's emblem (gear wheel with 24 teeth, dating from 1924) also present on the stamp.

The logo of this Convention was inspired by the main courtroom (Geunjeongjeon) of the Gyeongbokgung royal palace (Joseon dynasty) located in northern Seoul.
