Abbey Sainte-Croix on new French stamp about the town of Quimperlé

On June 20, 2016, the French Post has put in general sale a very nice stamp dedicated to the small Brittany town of Quimperlé (department of Finistère), characterized by its historic center dating from the Middle Ages and in particular its Abbey Sainte-Croix.
The First Day of issue of that stamp (€ 0.70, print run : 1,500,000) took place on 17 and 18 June 2016 in Quimperlé, but also in Paris at the "Carré d'Encre" as usual. Thank you very much Joël for this nice FDC from Paris !
After tango ("Stamp Day 2015", elected most beautiful engraved stamp issued in 2015) and Notre-Dame-des-Missions Church in Epinay-sur-Seine in 2016, this stamp is the third one having been designed and engraved by the very talented Christophe Laborde-Balen.

Christophe Laborde-Balen also designed the FDC cancellation showing the Lovignon Bridge (or flowered Bridge) on the Ellé river and a part of this Abbey Sainte-Croix, in particular its unusual circular plan (its central dome is 19 meters above the ground).
This Benedictine abbey, historical monument in 1840 and a masterpiece of Romanesque art, was founded around 1029, the same period when this Brittany town was created.
To note also on that stamp, to the left on the foreground, the presence of a bombard player at the window of a timbered house (probably the "Maison des Archers" dating from the 16th century).
This is a reference to Matilin an Dall or "Mathurin the blind" (1789-1859), born and died in Quimperlé, considered as one of the greatest bombard players of all time, a legend in Brittany.
